We love following paint color trends from year to year. This year, Sherwin Williams named Urbane Bronze (SW 7048) the top shade for 2021. Sherwin Williams describes the hue as one that “captures that simple sophistication every space is searching for.” The color also has a “natural simplicity and nature-inspired energy that cultivates a sense of calm from the ground up.”

We love with this color! It provides a timeless richness that appeals to almost all tastes. The color is an earthy, warm hue that is rooted in nature and pairs nicely with white or griege. It also looks good in a variety of ways – as the primary color for a space, an accent wall, to add depth to built-in bookcases, and even for trim.

Urbane Bronze Design Example

We used Urbane Bronze in the basement of the Holliday Farms 2020 Home-A-Rama stage this past fall. (Read more about the spaces we designed on our blog here). It is featured as an accent wall for the backdrop for the main theater wall, the media cabinetry, to accentuate the counter bar/eat-in peninsula, as well as for the trim work. We paired the color with Requisite Gray by Sherwin Williams. The natural elements in the space such as the woven chairs and the bamboo decor also evoke a grounded, calming vibe for the space. How to Use Urbane Bronze in Your Space

This color looks especially looks good paired with leather furniture, like the above theater room. Use green accents, such as plants, and white décor for added contrast with Urbane Bronze. As mentioned above, adding in any other type of natural elements also helps keep consistent with the serene, earthy vibe. You could use lighter wood tones in furniture or accessories, woven light fixtures, or nature-inspired art.

What do you think about this color choice? How would you use it in your space? And as always, if you want to paint but are having trouble deciding what colors will look best in your home, don’t hesitate to reach out for a color consultation. We’d be happy to help create the look you’ve been dreaming of.
